Combined Ophthalmology/First-Opinion Role at Clear Ridge Vets (Stamford, UK)

We are looking for someone with a real interest in ongoing learning, whether this is someone who already has an additional qualification, or a less experienced vet with a fresh enthusiasm to soak up ideas and treatments and protocols. We will respectively take new ideas forward and/or mentor at the required level; thereby keeping us all interested and keen, fuelled by the inter-clinician dialogue.

4 day working week with some weekend work.

This is a modern, very well-equipped small animal clinic; seeing first opinion cases, as well as ophthalmology referrals, and BVA eye testing (~500/year, heading for 600+ this year). A high level of soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery is also performed here too: So someone who also has that interest can be accommodated, but this is certainly not essential.

The practice is truly spacious and well provided. There is a modern Carl Zeiss operating microscope, and AMO/J+J Sovereign phaco machine. Also ERG, 3 slit lamp biomicroscopes, indirect ophthalmoscopes, brand new Dr Mach operating light, and electrosurgery. Plus Tonopen and Tonovet, Esaote ultrasound (8MHz-22MHz), multimode monitors, capnography, as well as Securos orthopaedic kit, amongst other significant surgical equipment.

The role of the incoming vet, is a combined first opinion, and Ophthalmology position. The aim is to build up the Ophthalmology side, and enable increasing involvement of the new person in Ophthalmology.

Pleasant accommodation, with new bathroom, available; as well as use of a modern vehicle.

Finally, there is a £4,000 welcoming bonus for the successful candidate.
