Veterinary Ophthalmology Specialist (Full or Part-time) – Vet Eye Care

Veterinary Ophthalmology Specialist (Full or Part-time)
Vet Eye Care is looking for a Veterinary Ophthalmology Specialist or a board-eligible Ophthalmologist to join our growing team. The position is flexible and both full and part-time opportunities can be discussed and considered (4 or 3 days a week). The ideal candidate must hold a diploma in veterinary ophthalmology (Dip ECVO/ACVO) or be eligible to sit their ECVO or ACVO board-qualifying examination.
Vet Eye Care is an independent Veterinary Ophthalmology clinic, located in Cambridgeshire (Yaxley). With excellent connection to central London, Cambridge, Nottingham and Leicester, the area provides many opportunities to explore. Our purpose-built clinic has been open since October 2023 and our caseload continuously grows and expands. Our clinic is built and equipped to the highest standards and consists of three consulting rooms, two spacious operating theatres equipped with Zeiss operating microscopes, Bausch and Lomb phacoemulsification machines (Stellaris PC and Stellaris Elite), laser glaucoma units (Endoptiks E2® and MicroPulse®), a large open-plan prep area, an imaging suite (ultrasound and x-ray unit) and separate dog and cat wards.
The successful candidate will be working alongside our team of one Ophthalmology Specialist (DipECVO), one ECVO-board eligible clinician, one ECVO-resident, four registered vet nurses, one patient care assistant, our receptionists and practice manager to help with the day-to-day workflow and case management. The successful candidate is expected to work a 36-hour week with 1:4 week and weekend on-call. The position benefits from private health and dental insurance, 25-days holiday (plus bank holidays), birthday leave, covered professional fees (RCVS, specialty college and VDS fees) and a generous CPD allowance of £5,000. The salary will reflect the candidates experience (up to £120,000). Relocation costs can be covered upon mutual agreement.
