Clinical Ophthalmologist at Focus Referrals (Oxfordshire, UK)
“An exciting opportunity has arisen at our newly refurbished ophthalmology referral hospital in Banbury, Oxfordshire. We require a certificate holder (advanced practitioner preferred) or board eligible clinician in ophthalmology to join our growing clinical team which currently consists of one diplomate (Mike Rhodes), an ECVO resident and four experienced veterinary nurses.
As a small, family run independent business, we pride ourselves in maintaining the highest possible clinical standards and in providing an efficient yet personal service to referring vets and clients. Run by vets, we recognise the importance of well-being amongst our staff, a good work/life balance and champion environmental sustainability as a key element in our business development.
The successful candidate will receive support with which to develop their clinical and surgical skills. Our exceptional facilities include 4 well-equipped consultation rooms, including a feline only room, Oertli Faros phacoemulsification, corneal cross-linking, diode laser with micropulse capability, RETevet (LKG) ERG, 2 operating microscopes, newly refurbished GE ultrasound scanner, ventilators, extensive prep area, 2 purpose built spacious operating theatres and separate dog and cat wards.
Enthusiasm, pride in excellent clinical care, the ability to work well within a team and thoughtful communication are the key skills for our next team member. Experience in general practice preferred.
