We have a successful Ophthalmology Department that sees a large caseload of diverse medical and surgical patients. Our Ophthalmology Department currently has two boarded Specialists, one resident and has significant room to grow due to increasing demand within the burgeoning Queensland market.

Our clinic is fully equipped with cutting-edge technology, providing you with all the necessary tools to diagnose and treat a wide range of ophthalmic conditions, from dogs and cats to exotic animals.

Animal Eye Care Melbourne Looking For Experienced Veterinary Ophthalmologist (Melbourne, Australia)

Animal Eye Care, Melbourne, Australia is looking for an experienced Veterinary Ophthalmologist who ideally has completed a residency to join our existing team. This person must be eligible for registration in Victoria, Australia.

This is a fulltime position as a staff Ophthalmologist who is willing to work in a collaborative environment and assist in the training of our residents, and final year Veterinary Students. Interest in a long-term association with Animal Eye Care is desirable.

Animal Eye Care is a 7 veterinarian (3 specialist) ophthalmology-only-practice based in Melbourne. We have 3 residents in training. We are based in a dedicated ophthalmology-only-practice building in East Malvern, in the leafy suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. Animal Eye Care runs a busy referral- based ophthalmology practice, with a high medical and surgical case load. We also see a number of exotics and horses. We have weekly rounds/journal club, monthly ocular histopathology, and our practice always strives to have the best and most up to date care for our patients. We pride ourselves on great communications with our clients and our referring vets.

We have a dedicated, highly trained and motivated nursing team that provide an integral contribution to the practice. We are high end users of Galaxy – Animal Intelligence Software which has been designed for referral practice, we try to be very efficient with client communication and referral letters back to the vets.

Specialized equipment- state of the art and up to date equipment and techniques are used to provide the very best services to our clients and their animals. We have the latest model Abbott- AMO WhiteStar Phaco machine with Fusion Fluidics, the latest Leica ophthalmic operating microscope and a dedicated Ultrasound machine.

Animal Eye Care provides a supportive workplace with an emphasis on the work-life balance. Our vets work a 4 day week. Participation in our limited (no calls after 10pm weeknights and 6pm weekends) afterhours roster is required, with a one in six on call roster.

Melbourne is regularly voted as one of the most liveable cities in the world. There is the opportunity to travel to do outclinics and to attend Chapter meetings, recent venues have included the Margaret River, WA, Uluru, and Far North Queensland.
