Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a person who will fit into our friendly team of three experienced ophthalmologists, including one European specialist, and be happy to collaborate with all teams within our multi-disciplinary referral hospital.

Our ideal candidate will be a residency trained or a European/American Diploma holder in Veterinary Ophthalmology, but certificate holders will be considered. Weekends and night cover is shared within the team at 1 in 4, aiming for a good work life balance.

About us

Eastcott Referrals is one of the leading referral centres in the UK, with 13 specialists in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology, neurology, cardiology, dentistry and oro-maxillofacial surgery, diagnostic imaging and anaesthesia.

We have well equipped ophthalmology specific consulting rooms and an ophthalmic operating suite, with access to further theatres. We have MRI/CT and a diploma lead imaging team supporting the hospital. We have both Faros and Alexos phacoemulsification units, two Zeiss operating microscopes and a ReteVet ERG machine.

We are located just south of the beautiful Cotswolds, market towns like Marlborough to the south and within easy reach of the M4 corridor.

BrAVO Spring Meeting 2023 – Conjunctivitis, Blepharitis & Tear Film Abnormalities

At BrAVO, we are delighted to welcome all our members to the pre-BSAVA Spring Meeting 2023 in Manchester. We have a full day of lectures covering disorders of the conjunctiva, eyelids and tear film.

Registration will start at 9 am, with proceedings starting from 9:30 am. There will be exhibits from our sponsors and refreshments provided during the day.

Veterinary Ophthalmologist Required at Rowe Referrals Ophthalmology (Bristol, UK)

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Ophthalmologist (diplomate or advanced practitioner) to come and join our ophthalmology team.

We pride ourselves on not only giving the best possible treatment and care to our patients and clients, but also in creating a supportive and encouraging working environment for our colleagues. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a referral setting and be able to manage their own clinical and surgical caseload. This role will be a mix of consultation and surgical duties.

Full-time or part-time will be considered. You will be required to take part in a shared out-of-hours rota which includes weekends and bank holidays.

About Us

Created in 2000, Rowe Veterinary Referrals (RVR) is part of the long-established Rowe Veterinary Group (RVG). RVR is a multidisciplinary, multi-site, referral veterinary practice based in North Bristol.

We are fully kitted out with the latest equipment including an Oertli OS4 phaco/VR machine, endolaser, high frequency ultrasound, ERG, cross-linking etc. The Ophthalmology team is well established with an excellent reputation. We are conveniently located near the M5 / M4 interchange and boast a superb set up within a multi-disciplinary Referral department.

About the Team and Culture

We currently have a team of 9 Ophthalmologists and a team of 6 Ophthalmic nurses, along with a dedicated team of care assistants and admin staff.

Applicant Requirements

The successful candidate will be a diplomate or experienced AVP with high end surgical and clinical skills and the ability to manage their own referral caseload. Part-time Senior Ophthalmology Clinician Position at The Ralph (Buckinghamshire, UK)

“The Ralph is an independent, multidisciplinary, specialist referral centre in the south-east of England. We are looking for another part-time Senior Clinician to join our friendly, experienced Ophthalmology team. The team currently consists of:

  • One ECVO Diplomate
  • One ECVO Residency-trained Clinician
  • Two third-year ECVO Residents
  • One Ophthalmology Intern
  • And our fabulous Ophthalmology nurses!

At The Ralph you will have access to advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment for referral ophthalmology. In our specialist-led multidisciplinary environment you will also receive full support from Diplomates in many disciplines. These include Anaesthesia and Analgesia, Cardiology, Dentistry, Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, and Orthopaedic and Soft Tissue surgery.
