“Dogwood Referrals is looking to expand its robust surgical referrals offering by developing a new service and as such we are seeking a board certified or otherwise suitably qualified advanced practitioner or certificate holder. Dogwood Referrals has established a widespread reputation for clinical excellence across the Greater Manchester area and is led by Donald Sheahan, a former Lecturer in Small Animal Surgery at Glasgow University, and a European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery, supported by two other surgeons.
This exciting role would have a high degree of clinical and operational freedom in establishing and leading the service and would involve working in close partnership with Don to deliver a first-class service. The practice is very well equipped with a 1.5T in-house MRI, advanced CT, three fully appointed surgical theatres with perfect space available to create a bespoke Ophthalmology suite. We would be prepared to build the service around the right candidate and are also open to discussing a bespoke role which could be full time or flexible as the appropriate candidate would wish.
Dogwood is located in Sale (southern Manchester) with fantastic links to the downtown area as well as an easy ride to Manchester Airport meaning that colleagues can take advantage of links to a big city or internationally. We are offering a highly competitive package which would be discussed with the appropriate candidate, with potential partnership options in future.

“An exciting opportunity has arisen at our newly refurbished ophthalmology referral hospital in Banbury, Oxfordshire. We require a certificate holder (advanced practitioner preferred) or board eligible clinician in ophthalmology to join our growing clinical team which currently consists of one diplomate (Mike Rhodes), an ECVO resident and four experienced veterinary nurses.
As a small, family run independent business, we pride ourselves in maintaining the highest possible clinical standards and in providing an efficient yet personal service to referring vets and clients. Run by vets, we recognise the importance of well-being amongst our staff, a good work/life balance and champion environmental sustainability as a key element in our business development.
The successful candidate will receive support with which to develop their clinical and surgical skills. Our exceptional facilities include 4 well-equipped consultation rooms, including a feline only room, Oertli Faros phacoemulsification, corneal cross-linking, diode laser with micropulse capability, RETevet (LKG) ERG, 2 operating microscopes, newly refurbished GE ultrasound scanner, ventilators, extensive prep area, 2 purpose built spacious operating theatres and separate dog and cat wards.
Enthusiasm, pride in excellent clinical care, the ability to work well within a team and thoughtful communication are the key skills for our next team member. Experience in general practice preferred.
We are happy to discuss a generous package for the right candidate:
